Pierre Sabourin
Pierre Sabourin (Killarney, Ontario) is a landscape painter. Sabourin studied Fine Arts at the University of Ottawa and The National Drawing and Print Council of Canada at the University of Canada; he has also apprenticed with the landscape painter Ferenc Szeles of Hungary. Through the years, Pierre has developed a style of landscape painting that draws upon the influence of Tom Thompson, J.E.H. Macdonald, Arthur Lismer, Lawren Harris, Vincent Van Gogh, Igor Grabar, and Camille Corot. Sabourin is drawn to bold expressionism with rich colour and thick impasto, manipulating paint and creating shadow, while at times incorporates glass in pigments for luminosity.
