OAC Exhibition Assistance Grants
What is the Exhibition Assistance program?
The Exhibition Assistance program provides grants of $500 to $1,500 to assist individual artists with costs related to presenting their work in a confirmed, upcoming exhibition.
Grants are made through third-party recommenders (public art galleries, artist-run centres and arts service organizations) throughout the province. Artists submit their applications to one of the Ontario Arts Council’s (OAC) recommender organizations (see attached List of Exhibition Assistance Recommenders). Once the recommender has made the decision to award a grant, they send the approved application and recommendation to OAC. OAC then prepares the grant payments and sends them directly to artists.

DEADLINES/PROCESS
We continue to accept applications throughout the year with the following deadlines:
September 26th
February 1st
Please note that we have extended our October 1st deadline to February 1st. After these deadlines our OAC Exhibition Assistance Committee will review the submissions up until that date only. You will be contacted by the AGS if your submission has been approved.
WHO MAKES THE DECISIONS?
Granting decisions are made by the AGS Exhibition Assistance Committee.
IN ADDITION TO THE OAC PROGRAM PRIORITIES AND CRITERIA, WE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING IN OUR GRANT DECISION-MAKING:
Artistic Excellence and Merit
Priority given to support emerging artists and/or first time applicants
CHECKLIST OF REQUIRED ITEMS
1. Application form – completed and signed
OAC Exhibition Assistance Application Form
2. Résumé – Summarize your artistic training, accomplishments and past exhibitions (up to 3 pages)
3. Exhibition confirmation document – Attach one of the following:
Letter signed by the gallery director, curator or exhibition organizer
Exhibition contract, rental agreement or insurance document (for a rental space)
The exhibition confirmation document must indicate the exhibition location and its opening and closing dates.
4. Support material and image list
Enclose 10 images or other audio-visual documentation of your work and a corresponding list identifying the date, title, media and dimensions of each work.
Contact recommenders or check the OAC Exhibition Assistance web page to find out accepted formats of visual support material.
5. Stamped, self-addressed envelope – for return of your support material.

Are you looking to exhibit your work in a fun and friendly atmosphere? If so, the Art Gallery of Sudbury can help! We are now accepting submissions for our off-site venue, The Laughing Buddha, located at 194 Elgin St., Sudbury, Ontario. We are asking that you please include in your submissions;
- your artist statement.
- at least 10 images in jpeg. format.
- a short biography about yourself and your work.
