Volunteer Opportunities
The AGS is currently seeking volunteers for 2009.
In the role of volunteer, you may be placed in the following areas:
- Introduce the public to the Art Gallery of Sudbury and to the works on display
- Act as a visible presence within the gallery
- Answer questions and offer direction to our guests.
- Help at opening receptions for exhibitions; food service, set up and/or clean up, bar service etc.
- Occasional help with children's art classes.
All volunteers will be trained. This will outline volunteer duties as well as providing the necessary background on the gallery and the current exhibition. Volunteer shifts are generally 3 to 4 hours long. This program is a rewarding experience, as well as being a fantastic opportunity for those who are interested in learning about visual arts, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm with the community, and those who would like to be involved with an artistic and creative organization.
