The Art Gallery of Sudbury is seeking participants for its upcoming exhibition Collisions: Communities in the New Millennium. Any citizen of any age living within the City of Greater Sudbury can participate -- no artistic skill or art education is required. Works of art can be created from any material provided the final measurements of the piece do not exceed six inches in length by six inches in width. Deadline for submissions is Sunday 30 September 2001 by 5:00pm.
Opening Reception: 18 October 2001 at 7:00pm
Each work must respond to the theme of the exhibition Communities in the New Millennium. Participants may create work that examines local, national and international issues of community. The project is intended to provide a broad overview of responses to the many events, successes, crises, conflicts and developments that have taken place in the new millennium. Any area of examination will be accepted. All work that conforms to the submission guidelines will be included in the exhibition. Work must be delivered to the gallery by the deadline and must be ready to hang. Deliveries of artworks can be made to the gallery at 251 John Street, Sudbury ON P3E 1P9 between noon and 5:00pm daily.
